Job Description

A new Opportunity has arrived at Service Care Solutions for a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist to join a secure unit in NottinghamThe role: To work as part of the Integrated Health team to provide a clinical psychology service to children, young people, their families & care systems. This includes direct and indirect clinical work; facilitating formulation meetings, offering consultation, providingsupervision, support and training to others.Daily Duties:

  • To provide specialist psychological assessment of young people who reside within the service.
  • To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of clients mental health problems and employing strong evidenced based practice.
  • To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
  • To provide specialist psychological advice and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan
  • To undertake risk assessment and management for clients and to provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
  • To act, where appropriate, as carecoordinator for the planning and review of care plans for children involved with complex, multi-agency systems.
Training and Experience:
  • Postgraduate doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent) as
accredited by the BPS
  • Planning skills for the prioritisation and organisation of client caseload
  • Maintains upto-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to both the specific client group and broader mental health issues.
  • Experience of representing psychology within the context of multidisciplinary care.
  • Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex
multi-variate data analysis as practised within the field of clinical psychology
  • Knowledge of the theory and practices of specialised psychological therapies and assessment methodologies relating to mental health difficulties in children and young people, and in supporting families and care systems.
Pay: £35.60 Per Hour (Ltd)Due to the nature of the role, there is some exposure to risks of verbal and physical aggression.Regular driving required on a daily basis.
