Communications OfficerProfessional Membership Body - Education SectorHome Based or Hybrid or Nottingham Office Basic Salary £26,525-£29,612 dependant on experience. Benefits include 25 Days Holiday and Pension Scheme.Full Time, PermanentClosing Date Thursday 6th July at 12.00pmMy client a reputable and established professional membership body in the education sector based in the UK is recruiting for a Communications and Policy Officer.The RoleWorking closely with colleagues in the Public Affairs and Policy team, and across Professional Development, the Communications and Policy Officer is a fast-paced and varied role. This role will be output focused, delivering high-quality written and graphicmaterial for a range of usesKey ResponsibilitiesCommunicationsMedia monitoring, proactively identifying opportunities to secure coverage and supporting the Head of Communications to draft/pitch.Supporting the Marketing Manager to promote membership and associated benefits to members and non-members, and promote Professional Development offer of training, courses, consultancy, and conferences.Drafting and publishing content (written, video, graphical, and audio) for channels, including the website and social media accounts.Maintain and improve the website and internal database, ensuring accurate and timely updates.Attending events to secure content and testimonials.PolicyPolitical monitoring, implementing processes and ensuring relevant colleagues are up to date with the latest policy developments.Drafting responses to consultations and calls for evidence, ensuring remains a key player in policy debate.Creating briefings on policy issues for internal stakeholders, as well as developing and managing circulation of updates for external stakeholders including MPs, Peers, sector figures, and journalists.Utilising public datasets and government announcements to identify opportunities for policy development.Overseeing member queries, creating and escalating case work to ensure accurate and timely responses.Any other duties that may be delegated by the Head of Communications or Leadership Group.Person SpecificationAs part of a small and growing organisation, the Communications and Policy Officer will need to be enthusiastic and adaptable, switching between core delivery (e.g., producing copy for the website) and proactive planning (e.g., identifying opportunitiesto influence policy).
