Freight Operations ExecutiveOperationsReporting toBusinessSenior Freight Operations ExecutiveUKBackground and purpose of the roleTo handle general operations, with a bias towards Ocean Imports. You will co-ordinate the movement of all shipments, customs clearances and deliveries. Develop strong relationships with internal partners and existing customers to provide market leading service.You will work with CS Team, Central Transport & Customs Teams to ensure efficient and effective handling of shipments.Primary responsibilitiesAccepting shipments via CW processesFollow correct Cargowise processes and ensure we have clean and correct data in CargowiseCheck shipment details, documentation and handle any issues queriesManage receipt of bills of lading and authorise system releaseCost / Invoice shipment ensuring margin is as expectedTransfer shipment to Customs Teams monitoring releaseManage LCL Deliveries via CWComplete weekly / monthly closes and close filesSupport CS team on Operational questions, queriesUpdate CS Team on issues / queriesInternal KPI ReportingStrong operational knowledge on import processes and formalitiesGood knowledge on shipping documentsHandling client shipments through system/ process driven approachWorking with internal teams to ensure client KPIs are achieved and exceededShipment profitability and margin managementWorking within agreed operating proceduresWork as part of a team and provide support and cover for colleagues during absencesKey internal relationshipsKey external relationshipsTransport TeamCustoms TeamCS TeamFinance TeamOrigin TeamsFinance teamCS, CX teamsSales teamCarriersCo LoadersHaulage PartnersPort AuthoritiesOverseas AgentsQualificationsSkills & KnowledgeGCSE English & Maths Grade 5 and aboveCW1 CCOFull knowledge of end to end ocean operational processesStrong background in Forwarding/ Logistics2+ years in a similar roleProcess driven and mindedTeam PlayerQuicker learner and process challenger (striving for more, quicker, easier, better)Robust time management and organisational skillsCW1 Experience (inc Workflows, Task Management etc)Confident and articulate communicatorSystematic and methodical approach to workFamiliar with bespoke IT packages - knowledge of Cargowise an advantage
