Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated service engineer to join a leading solutions provider to various industries including water, steel, oil/gas, packaging, food beverage and OEM sectors.Key responsibilities

  • Respond to call out requests from contract (also out of hours) and non-contract customers
  • Evaluate and resolve any problems
  • Replace or install new equipment on site
  • Repair, test and maintain equipment inside/outside of the company
  • Maintain manuals, commissioning documentation and drawings
  • Complete service report on site and send back to the office
  • Liaise with Account Manager/Service Manager with feedback on service visits
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with customers
  • Make recommendations to customer maintenance technicians
  • Offer information on future product, sales and service developments
  • Offer customer training on site
  • Provide telephone technical support to customers when required
  • Update product knowledge on a regular basis
  • Commission system control panels when required
  • Make assessments for the preparation of quotations
  • PAT testing and keeping log
  • To be part of call out rota and respond within the pre-assigned response time when on call
Beneficial Skills:
  • Good electrical engineering qualifications/experience required.
  • Good knowledge of variable speed drives / inverters, especially ABB,
  • Ability to fault find and program/understand drive parameters.
  • A good knowledge of power electronics and VSD applications.
  • Applicant to be prepared to have training on safety legislation and regulations.
  • UK Driving Licence
  • The candidate should be prepared to work away occasionally.

  • Salary – circa £40K
