Job Description

Northern Affinity is a pro active Business community group. It supports businesses, primarily in the Yorkshire Region, to engage with like minded businesses to work together, either directly or as advocates of each others brands to collectively win more business. After a great 2020, the management team have big plans to grow the business further in 2021 by expanding beyond its traditional West Yorkshire base and into surrounding counties. This will be an exciting time to join a friendly and ambitious business. The business is based in Pudsey, Leeds.As part of that expansion, they are seeking an Events Executive. The primary role is to support organising of networking events and other larger scale events throughout the year. You will be reporting directly to the MD of Northern Affinity.This role is being created through the Government Kickstart scheme; helping young people back into work; to qualify for the role, you must be aged between 16-24 years old and currently unemployed and on Universal credit.Key duties:

  • Arrange all online and face to face events run by The Northern Affinity
  • Work with suppliers and providers dependent on the event
  • Work with the Social Media team to promote the events we host
  • Place all events on relevant social media channels
  • Facilitate online meetings on Zoom and Streamyard
  • Working with our partners to help them promote their events
  • Putting together event content to be shared on various platforms.
  • Liaising with attendees pre and post event.
  • Help build a future events strategy for the business.
  • Promoting business related events.
  • Management of Co-Working Space
  • Experience that would be useful (though not essential):
  • Experience of the following software products; Linkedin, Eventbrite, Facebook, Zoom, Hubspot, Streamyard
  • Events sector experience, ideally in the B2B world
  • This role requires someone with strong communication skills; you will be required to interact with many different businesses, face to face (when we can!), over the phone, over zoom and lastly over email; this must be something you are comfortable with and can ideally demonstrate experience of.As explained earlier; this is part of the Kickstart scheme so the aim is to support young people back in to work; we therefore appreciate that you will not be the finished article and there will be extensive training supplied; that said in an ideal world you will have to some relevant experience for the role.The role will initially be 25 hours per week; with some flexibility about how this is split over Monday to Friday
