The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) is the leading orthopaedic specialist hospital in the UK and ranked amongst the 10 best worldwide for delivering expert comprehensive, innovative and patient focused neuromusculoskeletal health care, ranging from acute spinal injury to complex orthopaedic oncology. RNOH doesn’t only provide expert and safe musculoskeletal care but also collaborates closely with various academic units across the UK (our principal partner being UCL) in order to stay at the forefront of academic research and allow translation of new ideas in the fields of bioengineering and biotechnology to clinical practice in order to ultimately optimize patient care and experience. We strongly believe that we can only maintain our status as the best orthopedic specialist hospital in the UK by continuously innovating and improving. The RNOH currently has one fellow post in Sarcoma and lower limb arthroplasty surgery available to start now, for 12 months on a fixed term contract. Applicants should have completed core surgical training and have experience in elective orthopaedics, and ideally an interest in Sarcoma along with hip and knee arthroplasty surgery. The position is unique. On one hand it provides exposure to all aspects of management of patients requiring primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, complex limb reconstruction and primary soft tissue and bone sarcomas as well as bone metastatic disease. On the other hand, the fellow will get opportunities to be involved in cutting edge clinical research, allowing them to enrich their CV and also learn important translational research principles. We have a strong ethos of providing MDT based care across all the orthopedic surgical subspecialties and the successful candidate will become integral members of these pathways and learn valuable lessons in terms of organizing a safe and efficient service.Further information can be obtained from:Mr Rob Pollock, Clinical Director and Consultant Surgeon, on orTanya Joseph Divisional General Manager on .
