Job Description

Our client, a leading aerospace business in the West Midlands is looking for a technically strong and forward-thinking Financial Accountant to join them in a period of growth and innovation. The successful candidate will assist and prepare the FinancialAccounts for the Group and its subsidiaries whilst managing the audit process.The successful candidate has the opportunity to head up the finance department in a time of unprecedented growth therefore, this is a fantastic role for an ACA-qualified accountant looking to take their first move into industry.Key Responsibilities of the Technical Accountant

  • Develop and roll-out standard processes and audit templates to enable high-quality, right first-time submissions supported by validated source data with a clear audit-trial
  • Prepare and assist with audit pack for Group and subsidiaries
  • Support month end management account process and Budget
  • Liaison with external advisers on statutory audit and related activities
  • Ad hoc projects supporting the CEO, CFO and Group FC
  • Develop and maintain a suite of tools to support consistent audit experiences across the Group
  • Timely and accurate delivery of Audit Objectives to plan
  • Timely and accurately deliver month-end processes and associated balances sheet reconciliation
Key essentials of the Technical Accountant
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA/ACCA/CIMA) - ideally trained in Audit with experience of manufacturing
  • Experience of external audit
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts including applications in IFRS context and UK GAAP (essential) and German GAAP (desirable)
  • Internal & external stakeholder engagement
  • Experience of working with Hyperion systems and knowledge of MS Office (Excel)
