Job Description

BuyerPosition: PermanentLocation: Stafford, on-siteSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annumRole Overview:We are seeking a proactive and experienced Buyer to join one of our close partners in the Stafford area on a permanent basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part within their Purchasing team, overseeing both direct and indirect expenditure for the site.Responsibilities:- Place orders for all site requisites, including direct and indirect materials.- Coordinate delivery schedules for all materials, ensuring timely arrival.- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving supplier performance improvements.- Initiate and lead cost-saving projects, including negotiation of pricing terms.- Formulate category strategies for key expenditure areas.- Engage in early supplier collaboration and source new materials.- Contribute to our sustainability agenda by promoting environmentally responsible practices within the supply chain.- Occasional business travel to visit suppliers and other sites across the business.Experience Required:- Demonstrated proficiency in high-volume procurement within a similar role, with a track record of success.- Preferably possess a CIPS qualification, although not essential.- Strong problem-solving abilities and adept communication skills, both verbal and written.- Previous experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.- Knowledge of manufacturing processes is desirable.- Essential proficiency in ICT tools, such as MRP systems, Excel, and Outlook.Please put your home postcode on your CV when applying.
