Position: Senior Commodity BuyerLocation: Rocester, StaffordshireType: PermanentWorking Model: Fully based on siteSalary: £50,000 - £55,000Role OverviewI currently have an extremely exciting Senior Buyer role working within a Large Blue Chip Manufacturer. This role will see you work within a medium sized Procurement team of 6/7 people as a Senior Buyer within the Engines division creating Strategic & Commercialplans towards the businesses long term suppliers. This role will see working with exciting innovative high spec technology in an emerging market as the organisation make strides towards their net zero targets. (Projects will include Electrical & Hydrogen projectsas the companys portfolio grows in the future)Responsibilities- Reporting to the Global Category Manager, you will Develop Category Strategies for each area of responsibility.- Identify cost saving opportunities while developing strategies to on board new suppliers and negotiate with existing suppliers.- Manage multiple resource/capacity projects with suppliers to ensure the business can achieve their 5-year plan.- Responsible for leading contractual negotiations for your suppliers (Long Term/Development/ Warranty Agreements etc)- Develop and lead global supplier relationships to deliver tangible mutual benefits.- Work with suppliers and engineering division to identify new technologies to reduce cost and add additional value to the businesses existing products.- Build strong relationships across the organisation and the supply base, be responsible and accountable to make and influence key decisions that are in the best interest of the business.Requirements- Demonstrates Strong Procurement experience within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.- Experience developing and implementing successful long-term category strategies.- Confident negotiator with a proven record of creating cost ideas and delivering significant reductions.- Experience managing multiple projects and co-ordinating cross functional teams to ensure on-time delivery.- Comfortable working in a team environment.- Experience working with a global supply base - ability to travel globally is a requirement for this role.- Experience managing high level supplier relationships, ability to build strong internal relationships & preferably experience working closely with technical engineers.- Strong Communication, negotiation skills and commercial acumen.Key Skills- Great collaboration skills and works well within a team.- Strong Negotiator & Relationship Management skills.- Manufacturing or Engineering familiarity.
