Job Description

Job Title: BuyerLocation: StaffordshireSalary: £40,000 - £45,000An exciting opportunity with large multi-national organisation, based in Staffordshire are looking for an experienced Buyer to join their Purchasing team. This is one of the biggest engineering and manufacturing companies! Due to their consistent growththey are now looking to bring in a Non-Production Buyer!Key Responsibilities

  • Developing Commodity Strategies for each area of responsibility, working with the wider business to ensure strategies are implemented in a timely manner
  • Develop and lead supplier relationships to deliver tangible mutual benefits
  • Work with suppliers and stakeholders to reduce cost and or add additional value to our business
  • Identify and drive cost reduction activities
  • Leading contractual negotiations for your suppliers (Long Term Agreements, Service Agreements, terms & conditions)
  • Build strong relationships across the supply base, be responsible and accountable to make and influence key decisions that are in the best interests.
Key Skills
  • Strong negotiation skills, contract management knowledge and experience understanding cost makeup.
  • Strong relationship builder with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation as well as with external suppliers.
  • Drive to achieve best value and ongoing cost reduction.
  • A proven record of purchasing non-production materials and commodities.
