Job Description

The RoleThis is an exciting time to join our fantastic team here at the National Memorial Arboretum. The Group Sales Officer will support the next phase of our growth plans.At the National Memorial Arboretum, we believe in building on potential. Each year we welcome over 30,000 groups visitors to the Arboretum organised by both private group travel organisers and coach tour operators.The Arboretum was voted Best UK Attraction by Group Leisure & Travel Magazine readers in both 2021 and 2022, and in 2023 our Tailor Made Tours were awarded Gold for Experience of the Year at Enjoy Staffordshires Tourism & Good Food Awards.Alongside our standard visit, a range of groups-only events are programmed each year, from Remembrance Sunday Packages to Christmas Lunches with a Swing.As aGroup Sales Officer your ability to deliver outstanding customer service and build long-lasting relationships with the travel trade industry will be key to our success and could have a real impact on peoples lives.The Arboretum is the UKs year-round centre of Remembrance and part of the Royal British Legion.At its heart, RBL is a people organisation. People who want to do the very best for others, while at the same time making the most of the opportunities and experiences we offer them.As aGroup Sales Offier, you will be responsible for supporting the Marketing & Business Development team in achieving projected group package sales and visitor numbers in conjunction with the Group Sales Assistant.If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

  • Generate budgeted group visitor numbers and associated income through relationship building with coach tour operators, group travel organisers and local tourism partners.
  • Respond to inbound enquiries with high accuracy in conjunction with the team, ensuring clients receive excellent customer service.
  • Create group specific marketing and sales materials and collaborate with the wider marketing team to plan and execute group-specific marketing campaigns.
  • Suggest and create new packages with internal stakeholders based on customer insights and market research.
  • Liaising with our internal and operational teams to ensure requested packages can be delivered.
Please note that this role will be based onsite at the National Memorial Arboretum, Burton-on-Trent DE13 7AR. Core hours will be Monday to Friday, between 9-5pm. There may be an infrequent requirement to work evenings or weekends, during occasionssuch as Remembrance SundayAbout the National Memorial ArboretumThe Arboretum is the UKs year-round centre of Remembrance and part of the Royal British Legion. Home to over 400 memorials, including the nationally-important Armed Forces Memorial, it remembers the service and sacrifice of those who have served and continueto serve our country. The 150-acre site features around 25,000 maturing trees and an abundance of wildlife.
