Job Description

Job Title: Compliance OfficerLocation: Remote, requirement to travel to Staffordshire office once a weekSalary: Competitive About the Compliance OfficerMy client is a fast-growth Fintech in the Payments space who have recently secured £300m to continue their expansion so this is an exciting time to join the business. They have won multiple awards including No.3 in the Deloitte Fast 50, Prolific North Tech AwardsFintech Company of the Year 2020 and Tech Growth Business of the Year Awards 2020.As the Compliance Officer your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Prepare, implement, and maintain compliance plans.
  • Perform risk analysis to manage regulatory changes which may impact the business, its products and services, or its customers; and driving appropriate business responses to regulatory changes.
  • Conduct periodic reviews on compliance-related business controls and provide remediation or process improvement recommendations to the internal stakeholders.
  • Managing the Compliance Risk Register, reporting to committee on compliance and contributing to compliance-related policies for the guidance of the business.
  • Assist the Head of Risk and Compliance in managing the Compliance Program.
  • Submission of suspicious activity reports to regulators or law enforcement where required.
  • Contributing to development projects for new products and services.
  • Identifying and mitigating other regulatory risks to the business
Essential Skills and Competencies of the Compliance Officer
  • A minimum of two years regulatory compliance experience within the UK financial services sector.
  • Knowledge of FCA Handbook specifically CONC/DISP and GDPR experience
  • SMCR experience
  • Experience in payment services and systems; consumer credit, financing and lending; consumer protection and privacy; and financial crime risk including anti-money laundering/counter terrorism financing (AML/CTF), sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC)and fraud.
  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability of report writing.
  • A degree in business. economics or other relevant area.

  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Positive can-do attitude and willing to support the business where required
It would be a bonus if you also had:
  • University or College degree, preferably in law/business management
  • Previous experience in a start-up environment
  • European regulatory experience
  • Experience as a Data Protection Officer
