Care Home Chef - BurntwoodRef: CW14750Howard Finley Care are currently recruiting for a Care Home Chef to work within our clients Nursing Home based in Burntwood. This position is within a service which provides care for up to 70 individuals who are Elderly,have mental health conditions and more.Care Home Chef vacancy details:£10.00 to £13.00 per hour (D.O.E)Full-time, permanent employment40 hours per weekCare Home Chef experience and requirements:Certificate in Food Safety and HygieneClear understanding of Healthand Safety issues Able to complete written records such as record books, accident/incident report sheets etc Able to work as art of a team and use initiative to deal with problems in a practical way and respond appropriately where additional help is requiredor in an emergency situationDemonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities issues as they apply in the work place and challenge attitudes and practices which are discriminatoryPrevious experience in a similar setting (i.e. a care home or a school) is essentialto be consideredKnowledge of nutritional needs of older people Health and Safety and regulatory requirements Ability to work in a team, a caring nature and a positive attitudeCare Home Chef duties:Prepare hot and cold meals for residents according to theirneeds and preferences Assist in planning seasonal menusClean kitchen and equipment Collect and distribute crockery from the resident areasMaintain a clean and hygienic environment Carry out any reasonable request or instruction from the Home Manager Ensurecompliance with the Health & Safety Policy and regulations in kitchen and stores Carry out any checks in the kitchen as required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, for example recording fridge temperatures Report all accidents and incidentsto the Person-in-Charge of the Home Have full knowledge of the Fire Procedures, fire escapes and a working knowledge of the firefighting equipment Have full knowledge of and take responsibility to ensure adherence to infection control policies and proceduresof the Department of Health and the Company at all timeIf you are interested in this position, please apply with your most up to date CV.
