Job Description

Asprey Medical Service Ltd. is searching for an Accountable Pharmacist for our private clients Compounding Unit. This is a permanent senior position with numerous benefits such as a relocation package and a company car. The Client is looking for someonewho can come into the role as soon as possible. The salary is 60k per Annum.In this position you would be responsible for delivering a safe, cost-effective, and efficient, patient-centred compounding service; including aseptically manufactured chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, CIVAS, and other aseptically prepared items whichare carried out across the company for service users, both within and outside the company within the income and staff resources available ensuring the service is profitable within the agreed income targets.You would be required to;

  • Oversee all aspects of the compounding unit facilities at the company.
  • Provide comprehensive technical and professional guidance for compounding services to the company and ensure the continuity of patient care.
  • Review, develop and implement a strategic vision and delivery plan for the compounding unit services across the business.
  • Be responsible for risk management of outsourced aseptic products including those of Chemotherapy, CIVAS, TPN products.
  • Lead and explore commercial opportunities for the manufacture of IMPs. Ensuring a balance between direct patient-care services to company and commercial activities.
  • Develop appropriate business management tools for IMP manufacturing operations.
  • Provide professional leadership and management of staff in the compounding unit to achieve the highest standards of pharmaceutical care, identifying and promoting ongoing training programs, ensuring staff are effectively empowered, motivated and competent,and have clear targets.
  • Continually analyze and assess the provision of compounding unit services to the business, developing and implementing alternative methods of delivering these services within a risk management framework of safe systems of work, which minimizes errors andirregularities and ensures high-quality work.
  • Liaison with the Senior pharmacist - clinical trial to provide leadership and management support for the provision of clinical trials to ensure these services meet key performance standards and quality measures particularly where the input of Pharmacy Productionservices are required.
  • Be the accountable pharmacist as defined by Quality Assurance Aseptic Preparation Services 5th Edition authorizing all aspects of the services within the compounding unit, including the approval of all systems of work and documentation used in the unit.
  • Responsible for all Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) manufacturing operations carried out in the compounding unit. Ensure the IMP manufacturing service is profitable and meets all income targets, manage, and control costs, and ensure staffing resourcesare utilized effectively.
  • Releasing Officer named in the compounding units Quality Management System (QMS) and will make the final decision to approve or reject as sees fit, starting materials, components, and pharmaceutical finished products for use within the compounding unitand sale to other commercial and NHS healthcare providers under the companys MHRA Manufacturers Specials (MS) license.
  • Adhere to GQC/ GDP/NMC/GPHC / ICO standards relevant to the role.
  • Chair / Attend all relevant committees aligned to the remit of the role.
  • Be aware of all the responsibilities relating to Infection Prevention and Control.
Essential Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications:
  • GPHC registrant
  • Post graduate diploma in GMPExperience in an aseptic compounding unit
  • Behavioural Competency Level: 3
Skills/Abilities:
  • Provide expert knowledge of all regulations, including MHRA requirements, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and QA guidance is essential in this post.
  • Ability to motivate, develop and lead a team.
  • Coaching and training skillsTakes a self-motivated, energetic, and positive approach to work.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to influence others.Displays well-developed planning & organisational skills, ability to multitask, and show good time management skills. Also well-developed Project and Change Managementskills.
