Supplier Quality Lead

About the role

• Interface with BU, Operational and Supply Chain teams to prioritise supplier development
• Carry out new supplier validation audits, with support from GSM and local SME
• Assist supplier selection through robust qualification processes
• Support the assessment new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity and fulfilment
• Drive improvements utilising Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards and supplier audit, ensuring supplier compliance, whilst driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans to deliver value
• Track the supply chain performance indicators, and continue to develop and effective Global Score Card including items such as yield, field cost, field defect rate, supplier quality plan, engagement effectiveness, and corrective & preventative action closure
• Work closely with Global Supply Chain team to support the implementation and tracking of Supplier change management, capacity studies and New Product Introductions, and transfers
• Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to Quality Tools
• Assist with new product launch by working with suppliers to ensure that key milestones are achieved and Safe Launch Plans are established
• Ensure adherence to the required APQP and PPAP requirements as necessary
• Work with Engineering (Technology and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities
• Provide support and facilitate in solving technical problems associated with product supply and test facilities
• Support the Global Supply Team in conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends
• Support Supply Chain Team in areas such as Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) and Supplier cost improvements

About you

• Ideally degree qualified in a technical discipline or significant experience in a highly technical manufacturing environment
• Lead auditor to ISO9001 and preferably ISO14001 and IATF
• Audit experience of VDA preferred
• Proven and experienced problem solver in a technology / complex manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of core quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC
• Ability to manage and oversee multiple projects with multiple stake holders
• Experience of overseas travel and ability to work on own initiative
• Proven experience in a similar role including supplier management
