Job Description

Opportunity for a production planner to join a well-established market leader that has been trading for over 100 years, and grow into a master planner position. In return, the production planner will receive a salary of £35,000 - £38,000, depending on experience, plus a pension of up to 7.5%, 25 days of holiday, and bank holidays.Working from a high-tech factory in Cardiff for a business known globally for innovation and product quality, supplying products to various industries.As the production planner, your responsibilities will include the following:-

  • Creating and maintaining an efficient production schedule, minimising cycle times, and effectively controlling inventory.
  • Analysing production history and current customer demand, using data to create the most accurate plan.
  • Reporting on the performance of the master production schedule (MPS)
  • Ensuring the highest level of OTIF is available to provide the best product lead times and establish inventory profiles to meet sales demand.
  • Maintaining a robust sales and operational planning process that accounts for capacity versus demand and drives a synchronised flow through the value streams.
  • Evaluating the business operational strategy and opportunities to drive competitive advantage through safe and efficient use of resources and implementation of new technologies.
  • Acting as a focal point for collation, manipulation and analysis of the business forecast and strategic plans - converting value into volume for modelling the supply chain delivery to demand.
  • Motivating and developing the production planner
To apply for the production planner position, you will need the following:
  • Extensive production planning experience
  • A good understanding of manufacturing/planning data and reporting/presenting data to senior management.
  • Strong ERP/MRP skills.
