You will contribute to the overall safe operation of plant and equipment, safety,quality, waste and OEE targets. Youll need to bemechanically biasedand able to commute to our sites in Cardiff and Newport on a daily basis.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking as part of our Engineering team, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the manufacturing process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. Youll workon various different types of equipment involved in the manufacture of semiconductor wafers including complex pneumatic and electrical/electronic control systems and will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activitieson site. Your time will be split between the ongoing maintenance activity and delivering projects which will improve the availability of the equipment, producing highly complex semiconductor wafers in an environment where safety, quality, waste and OEE targetsare a paramount.Qualifications / Essential Skills

  • Team player with attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Educated to HNC or ideally degree level
  • Apprentice trained Engineer to NVQ Level 3 standard in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics and pneumatics will be an advantage
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Experience in mechanical/electrical fault finding, defect rectification and routine maintenance activities
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations
  • Experienced in manufacturing measurables such as OEE, FTT, availability etc.
  • Able to manage and deliver Project type activities including the replacement of obsolete systems or equipment
