Job Description

Salary: £39K-£41,5K + 40% shift allowanceAbout the role

  • The day to day maintenance of manufacturing systems
  • Continual improvement of reliability and performance of systems and equipment
  • Proactive involvement in the support of MOCVD process improvement and problem solving
  • To provide site wide engineering and maintenance support to be carried out on manufacturing systems
  • Provide an organic shift training, mentor, coaching capability for junior members of the shift and provide necessary feedback to enable the engineering competence growth of the shift.
  • Provide technical guidance to all Equipment shift employees and act as the shift point of contact for Process Engineers and Manufacturing employees on all equipment issues.
  • To provide medium and long term planned preventive maintenance function and record keeping
  • To act as a competent person in all activities carried out in the area for which you are responsible
  • To monitor reactor performance and identify problems and establish and implement lasting solutions to those problems
  • To liaise with line manager or equipment specialist on a regular basis to determine current priorities
  • Organise, allocate and control resources within own area of responsibility. Lead and direct the Infrastructure Maintenance team to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key performance measures.
  • Monitor shift performance against the plan and derive remedial actions and escalate when necessary.
  • To pursue personal objective decided at appraisal and maintain a list of to do jobs that may be undertaken in any period of slack during shift, also ensuring all work carried out are documented on ROMS
  • Ensure cycle time achievement on all planned maintenance events is delivered within set defined times
  • Ability to drive root cause fix for unplanned events through structured problem-solving methods and accurate completion of incident reports.
  • Ability to manage low level disciplinary issues and when to escalate
  • To pursue personal objective decided at appraisal and maintain a list of to do jobs that may be undertaken in any period of slack during shift, also ensuring all work carried out are documented on CMMS
  • Adhering too, and ensuring all subordinates comply with all internal safety, HR, environmental and quality guidelines and procedures.
About you
  • HNC/HND/Degree in an engineering discipline is desirable
  • Experience of semiconductor processing in III/V or silicon fabrication
  • Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic aptitude and experience
  • Ability to problem solve and fault find across various engineering disciplines
  • Able to prioritise effectively, make decisions and take decisive actions quickly under pressure
  • Excellent attitude to H&S
  • Excellent attention to detail
