Job Description

About the role This role will allow for a hybrid work arrangement while also requiring a global site presence to develop and oversee implementation of plans. This will involve international travel.

  • Support the development and engagement of the sustainability strategy and be responsible for the development, implementation, reporting and compliance of environmental initiatives meeting our publicly committed targets. Highlight at the earliest opportunityany deviation from progress.
  • Drive the development and implementation of an emissions reduction plan setting and meeting transparent public emissions reporting.
  • Work closely with key internal departments across all sites including Facilities, Finance and Supply Chain to deliver effective sustainable decision making and third-party emissions activities.
  • Manage external support organisation relationships and ensure delivery of agreed targets.
  • Oversight and delivery of annual 14064-1 recertification
  • Managing external agencies, ensure effective data collection and submission for formal environmental reporting including our Annual Report and Accounts, SECR, plastic packaging tax.
  • Manage the data collection methods and submission for multi-stakeholder reporting requirements, for example SBTi.
  • Responsible for environmental initiative key performance indicators feeding into wider sustainability reporting objectives, including TCFD reporting
  • Develop and manage environmental governance structure to effectively manage environmental streams of work
  • Oversee and identify improvement activities to ensure maintenance and evolution of the companys ISO14001 accreditation for all sites including oversight and alignment of environmental management objectives where applicable.
  • Maintain critical oversight to, and audit site environmental operating permit requirements.
  • Maintain critical oversight of pollution control, waste management and emission within the business
  • Maintain critical oversight of energy management within the business
  • Promote and raise awareness of sustainability and emerging environmental issues.
  • Support in the development of environmental improvement activities to support IQE in its environmental and sustainability targets.
  • Keep up to date with changes in current legislation across all IQE sites.
  • Undertake planning, including the setting of goals, agreeing priorities, and establishing adequate systems for performance management.
  • Ensure completion of internal, second party audits for all IQE sites
  • Creation of internal e-learning courses. Also, with an expectation to deliver internal IQE HSE training courses.
  • Attend weekly, monthly HSE meetings. Support these meetings where required by preparing slides and presenting data.
  • Liaise with other HSE colleagues across the group to work on common issues and risk reduction projects.
  • Support the HSE team in their career development by supporting in their PDPs and be a mentor and coach within the role.
About you
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in an Environmental field
  • Experience in an Environmental Management or Senior role
  • Experience and responsibility for environmental management system operation.
  • Previous experience in a COMAH/PSM establishments or establishment with hazardous inventory
  • Experience of developing environment /energy policies
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills and experience
