Job Description

Data Architect - Hybrid Cardiff - £52,000 - £64,000The OpportunityYolk Recruitment Public Sector & Not-for-Profit team has partnered with a large public sector organisation to recruit a Data Architect to join their team. They are an extraordinary organisation based in Cardiff with a diverse workforce and inclusive culture.Over the past year the organisation has established their first Enterprise Data Platform (cloud-based) and have created a new Data Management Strategy to articulate the activities required to overcome data blockers (such as data quality and data understanding)that challenge their ambition to fully utilise data for effective decision making.This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced Data Architect to support the organisation on the next stage of their journey. You will play a key role in further developing their data management capabilities and increasing the value ofthe Enterprise Data Platform.What the Data Architect will be doingyou will be responsible for implementing the new Data Management Strategy, collaborating with the Chief Data Officer, Data Governance Office, and ITS department. You will also design, develop and implement data solutions, including the cloud-based EnterpriseData Platform, to support data-led decision making, ensure reliability, scalability and security, and meet the needs of various stakeholders.

  • Lead the development and implementation of data policies, principles, and procedures to ensure robust data management and governance practices.
  • Design and quality assure conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in data-related topics in relevant governance forums.
  • Build effective stakeholder relationships to understand their challenges and translate business needs into comprehensive data specifications.
  • Support the population of the Enterprise Data Platform using technical knowledge around ETL, OLTP, and OLAP best practices.
What the successful Data Architect will bring to the team
  • Experience leading on the design, development, and implementation of modern data architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of data management strategy frameworks and enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data products and services, specifically Azure
  • Detailed understanding of data privacy legislation and approaches for protecting and securing data.
  • Ability to elicit requirements and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the business.

  • Salary of between £52,000 to £64,000
