Job Description

We currently have a vacancy within our Engineering Department for a Manufacturing / Production Planning Engineer, who has relevant and proven experience, seeking an opportunity to join a growing Organisation and develop their skills.Youll support the inload of new work into the business, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and commercial targets. Subject matter expert in medium fabrications, providing guidance and technical support to shop floor employees. Must be capableof working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a customer facing role.Manufacturing EngineerFabrications Responsibilities:

  • Successfully manage New Product Introduction (NPI) projects to deliver components on time and within budget. This will include holding regular project meetings, maintaining minutes and taking actions as required.
  • Preparation of quotes to strict timelines assessing the companys technical capability and capacity prior to customer submission.
  • Preparation of manufacturing routings including tooling and as required first off development parts.
  • Improve existing manufacturing processes to achieve measured productivity improvements.
  • Work directly with suppliers to ensure the latest innovations in fixtures & tooling are employed.
  • Produce accurate Stage drawings for manufacturing operations.
  • Produce detailed documentation, set up packs, SOPs etc.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure all aspects of projects are completed on time.
  • Liaise directly with customer and/or supplier technical departments to resolve process related issues.
  • Support production with daily problem solving Gemba activities ensuring permanent solutions are put in place.
  • To perform other such duties as generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of responsibility.
Manufacturing EngineerFabrications Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years fully skilled experience working in a Fabrications Engineering environment. Either Aerospace, Industrial power generation, defence, or complex fabrications.
  • You must be educated to HNC level in an Engineering related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • You must be capable of assessing enquiries against capability and specify technical documents.- Writing up route cards and tooling definition.
  • Previous project management and commercial experience is also desirable.
  • An understanding of where process requirements such as Heat treatment and coatings are carried out to customer specifications.
  • You must be dynamic and enthusiastic.
  • The ability to implement Lean techniques is essential.
