We now have a vacancy for a Hire Driver for our busy Groundcare Hire Department based in Reading, Berkshire.The Delivery Driver / Hire Installation Role:The main duties of this position will be to deliver, install and give training to our customers to a wide range of Groundcare machinery. You will primarily be delivering the machinery within the business trading area which covers the counties of Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, London, Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Bristol.Upon delivery, you will ensure the customer has been instructed in the safe use of the machinery (training will be provided), that all paperwork is completed, and the machinery is returned in good condition upon collection. During quiet delivery times, you may be asked to help in the workshops alongside the hire engineers, carrying out various machinery maintenance tasks and therefore some practical hands on or mechanical experience would be an advantage.The hours of work will be 8am until 5pm. However, due to the nature of the hire business, it will be required from time to time to vary start and finish times to accommodate customer requests, i.e., early deliveries which will generally require a 6.30am start.We are looking for someone who possesses the following:The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and be able to use their own initiative to resolve any minor issues that may arise. You must hold a clean licence to drive an 18-ton lorry and have a current CPC card with at least 3-years remaining.
