Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and diverse team of risk management professionals Do you have the skills and experience to provide effective and timely risk advice and support to a large public sector organisation If so, wewant to hear from you!We are looking for a Risk Officer to join London Fire Brigade on 12 months (with additional 3 months extension likely if all goes well), covering a secondment. The role is full time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, hybrid work arrangements available2-3 days’ work from home the rest from their office near London Bridge.You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Risk Manager in the development and implementation of risk policies and procedures across the organisation
  • Analysing various financial and operational data to identify and assess risks and opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining risk registers and dashboards, using appropriate software and tools
  • Providing risk reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors, regulators, and other relevant parties
  • Contributing to the risk culture and awareness within the organisation
  • Providing training and guidance to staff on risk management best practices
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Desirable to have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in risk management, either private or public sector.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks, standards, and methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Lists
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
This is a full-time position, based in our central office in London. The salary range £40,000 per annum might be some flexibility to go higher, depending on qualifications and experience.
