Reed Secure is a specialist provider of permanent, contract, temporary and outsourced recruitment solutions for security cleared professionals.We require a Data and Information Governance Officer to cover an existing workload within MOPAC, based in Southwark (Hybrid working).This is an interim position for an initial 3months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.Do you have a passion for data and ensuring its used effectivelyThe Mayors Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is seeking a Data and Information Governance Officer to join our team for an initialthree months! Youll play a vital role in helping us make the most of our data, while keeping it safe and secure.What youll do:

Be our go-to expert on data protection, providing clear and actionable advice to staff at all levels.
Champion good data practices across MOPAC, working with our Data Champions to ensure everyone understands how to handle information responsibly.
Develop and deliver training programs that empower staff to manage data effectively.
Partner with teams across MOPAC to identify and address data management challenges.
Help us build a robust Data Governance Framework, ensuring we comply with all relevant regulations.

The Data and Information Governance Officer role at MOPAC is responsible for ensuring the organisation adheres to data protection regulations and best practices. This involves providing expert advice and training to staff across all levels, working withData Champions to promote good data practices, and developing a robust Data Governance Framework. Youll also be involved in identifying and resolving data management issues, and keeping up-to-date on the latest data governance requirementsSkills and experience needed to be successful in this role:

Good and up-to-date understanding of data and information governance and management, relevant guidance and statutory requirements.
Excellent communications skills including the ability to communicate complex information and statutory requirements to non-specialists.
Excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to work efficiently on numerous tasks simultaneously and to adapt to changing circumstances, often under time pressure.
Attention to detail and a high standard of work presentation.
Ability to prepare reports, and documentation outlining detailed data and information governance in an understandable way.
Experience of presenting data in creative ways that enable good understanding from non-data specialists.
