We are looking for a Residential Waking Night Officer for our Orient Street Short Breaks unit which supports children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and autism (and associated physical disabilities).As a Residential Waking Night Officer your focus will be on providing a safe and caring environment while also offering opportunities for residents to maximise their independence and engage in ordinary living and community life. This includes the provision of personal care, medication management, domestic care, managing health and safety, completing a range of domestic duties which are performed at night. There is a necessity to be able to maintain records of activities and be able to update plans and risk assessments as needed.You will need to have an understanding of the needs of carers and the importance of respite care, knowledge of other social care roles and other professions and statutory organisations such as Ofsted and CQC.This is an opportunity to provide a vital role in supporting carers to provide care to children and adults with learning disabilities while developing a career in care with access to training and development opportunities.Why work for Southwark as a Residential Waking Night Officer
