Job Description

As the Professional Advisor- Education you work closely with the Head of Education and external stakeholders supporting the delivery of pre-registration occupational therapy education in the UK, delivering resources, evidence, learning opportunities andsupport to strengthen the expertise, delivery, and resilience of the future occupational therapy workforce.Client DetailsRCOT, the Royal College of Occupational Therapists have championed the profession and the people behind it for over 90 years; and today are thriving with over 35,000 members.RCOT offers a supportive and inclusive working environment that enables you to learn, develop and be the best you can in a role that suits you. The Professional Advisor-Education works within the Education team promoting highstandards of pre- registration education, learning and early career entry into the profession.Description

  • Developing partnerships and working collaboratively with key organisations and external stakeholders including learners, programme teams, professional, statutory, and regulatory bodies, practice educators and employers, and people who access occupationaltherapy services.
  • Working with RCOT colleagues and education provider programme teams to embed the learning and development standards and identify and disseminate aspects of good practice.
  • Supporting the implementation of RCOTs strategy in relation to pre-registration education and workforce, being responsive to the business and profession-wide needs.
  • Working closely with Movement building and membership to provide a range of resources to support pre-registration learners making the transition to early career (including supporting learners needs and placement capacity).
  • Working closely with education providers and other partners to champion opportunities, developments, and innovation in occupational therapy pre-registration education programmes.
  • Inputting into RCOT transformation projects -ensuring membership communities/ products / services / fee structures meet learner and education provider needs and more effectively sell the benefits of membership to learners and educators.
  • Collecting and analysing data to understand learner intake and trends to inform RCOT priorities and activities.
  • Gathering intelligence through surveys, focus groups and facilitated discussion.
  • Understanding policy, legislation, and practices across the UK that impact on pre-registration occupational therapy education and work collaboratively with education providers to support and guide them in responding to change.
  • Identifying where and how RCOT can make a difference to raise and maintain high standards of pre-registration education.
ProfileHCPC registered occupational therapist.Current knowledge and experience of pre-registration education within an education provider setting.Demonstrable understanding of pre-registration occupational therapy education, including curriculum design and development, accreditation and approval processes and partnership working with practice placement tutors/educators.Experience of collecting, analysing and presenting data to inform practice and using learning to support practice.High levels of experience in working collaboratively across a variety of stakeholder groups and effective in project management including coordinating and co-working.Possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the role and value of educational quality monitoring and enhancement processes you will also be up to date in current education, health and social care policies and current affairs.Solutions-driven and have practical ability to create inspiring and engaging content with a flex style and tone for varied audiences.A strong communicator in both written and verbal skills, and have a keen eye for detail, accuracy, quality, and excellence.Ability to captivate an audience and present information and resources in creative and engaging ways using digital technologies to create, collaborate, and deliver content.Possess an inquisitive approach to trialling, testing and innovating, in order to do more, better.Highly comfortable using metrics to measure success of initiatives and to ensure continuous improvement and development.Passionate about the use of digital tools to work collaboratively and productively in a hybrid working model, championing, and promoting new ways of working.Possess enthusiasm to live and model the RCOT values across all areas of work.Ability to demonstrate passion for embedding environmental sustainability principles across all areas of work.High levels of self-motivation, enthusiasm, and passion for the professional field you represent is a prerequisite as is a demonstrable passion for including equity, diversity and belonging principles across all areas of work.CJob OfferRewards and benefits are just one part of the reason RCOT is a great place to work.
