Job Description

As the Practice and Workforce Manager you lead the Professional Advisers who are responsible for gathering, analysing and interpreting information on the Occupational Therapy workforce to recommend how and where to position Occupational Therapy most effectivelywithin Health, Education and Social Care.Client DetailsRCOT, the Royal College of Occupational Therapists have championed the profession and the people behind it for over 90 years; and today are thriving with over 35,000 members.RCOT offers a supportive and inclusive working environment that enables you to learn, develop and be the best you can in a role that suits you. The Practice and Workforce Manager works closely with and supports the Head of Practiceand Workforce, and line manages the Professional Advisers in the Practice and Workforce team.DescriptionWorking closely with the Head of Practice and Workforce to horizon scan and monitor data and intelligence to inform RCOT priorities in relation to workforce.Be the driving force behind the successful delivery of the projects led by the Professional Advisers, ensuring projects are aligned with their workforce strategy and agreed goals.Line manage the Professional Advisers within the Practice and Workforce Team.Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure projects deliver resources, evidence, learning opportunities and support to strengthen the expertise, delivery and resilience of the occupational therapy workforce.Oversee the management of budgets and contracts for the delivery of agreed projects.Lead on championing policy, legislation, and practice relevant to the support worker, enhanced, advanced and consultant levels of practice.Maintain a strategic awareness and seek to influence the UK multi-professional polices, frameworks and resources that shape the professional education and career development needs for members and the broader occupational therapy profession.Proactively foster relationships with key stakeholders to inform and support success of RCOT projects.Work collaboratively with members and volunteers to identify workforce opportunities and priorities, showcase and enhance best practice.Horizon scan and lead the professional advisers in identifying workforce and practice priorities for RCOT to address agreeing priorities and key deliverables.Embed and monitor key vision, values, and behaviours to shape organisational culture.Respond to consultations relevant to these sectors of the workforce.Work closely with colleagues in Movement Building and Membership and Brand and Marketing to inform the creation of contemporary learning and development activities.Respond to member enquiries relevant to occupational therapy workforce.ProfileExperienced Occupational Therapist and used to managing and overseeing a team working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders from start to finish.Demonstrate experience of project management, implementation, and delivery.Have current, up-to-date knowledge of workforce planning, implementation and retention.Ability to work with complex data to provide workforce analysis and summaries.Strong professional network and be up to date with the latest thinking and future of occupational therapy practice and delivery.Solutions-driven and have practical ability to create inspiring and engaging content and flex style and tone for different audiences to ensure an authentic four-nations approach.Ability to drive operational plans.Interpret complex documents on legislation and policy related to the occupational therapy workforce and practice and developing robust responses and workplans.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills is essential including presentation and report-writingConfident interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence colleagues at all levels and provide advice and guidance to senior leadersInquisitive approach to trialling, testing and innovating, in order to do more, better.Comfortable using metrics to measure success of initiatives, and to ensure continuous improvement and development.Highly confident and proficient in using digital technologies to work collaboratively and productively in a hybrid working model, championing, and promoting new ways of workingEnthusiastic to live and model the RCOT values across all areas of work.Demonstrate passion for embedding environmental sustainability principles across all areas of work.
