THIS ROLE CAN BE BASED EITHER IN LONDON OR SOUTHAMPTON Our client is a well known online fin-tech and personal loans company that is going through rapid growth. The business is agile and dynamic and is seeking someone similar to join the legal team. Thecompany is enjoying significant success in the lending market, operating its direct to lender approach without broker and therefore engaging directly with the customers, providing an exceptional service. As the company has grown, so has the need to providefurther legal input and advice into the strategic expanse and all the legal requirements that follow. This new role has been established to help the Head of Legal with the growth of the organisation. The role is broad and will undertake a variety of legalmatters including (but not limited to): * drafting, advising and negotiating on a wide range of commercial agreements, including technology, IP, marketing and supplier and outsourcing arrangements * providing commercially and risk aware advice to the seniormanagement and executives within the business on new products and associated regulatory issues * assisting with company and corporate matters such as joint venture arrangements * managing external law firms where specialist advice is required such as litigationand other technical areas Candidate Requirements: * Ideally you will have at least 3 years experience as a qualified solicitor and preferably worked within a financial services organisation * You should have broad experience advising, drafting and negotiatingon a range of commercial agreements * Knowledge of the law relating to consumer credit would be advantageous, but is not a pre-requisite, as is knowledge around lending requirements, specifically, regulated and non regulated lending * You should want to workin a small agile team that operates in a fun and engaging way and requires the incumbent to work on a range of diverse work and be able to "pull up their sleeves" when required If you are part of a large retail bank or big finance team within a law firm, seekinga new role in a growing modern and dynamic fin-tech, then this role might be for you.
