Job Description

Senior Manager, Formulation Development - Bells Healthcare Ltd. Location: Southport Salary: £40-£44k Closing date 10/07/2020Primary Responsibility;

  • Overview and management of all NPD projects across the sites globally.
  • Gain instruction from the marketing and technical committee to identify work priorities and smart objectives.
  • Responsible for the formulation design and implementation project from concept to market. This will include all stages of manufacturing.
  • Assess the safety aspects of the formulations that are being developed.
  • As required liaise with contract development and manufacturing facilities to assist in identifying optimum solutions to product development and manufacturing problems.
  • Perform and coordinate scale ups from lab scale to pilot scale then into commercial batches size.
  • Lead any technical transfers from off site to site.
  • Work closely with validation through all the stages of process development to ensure the process and cleaning validation is relevant throughout the process.
  • Work in collaboration with the team to define formulation, container closure system and full product testing requirements in line with the relevant guidelines, with a view to establishing a shelf life.
  • Review and interpret data to present conclusions and recommendations.
  • Ensure that the projects are being run according to agreed timelines, costs and that appropriate robust decisions are made at each stage of the project.
  • Monitor, record and attribute costs associated with projects.
  • Work on blends for customer assessment and for regulatory submission: coordinating preservative efficacy testing and stability tests with QC.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, reporting on project progress and challenges as appropriate.
    • Qualification, skills, and experience needed;
  • BSc or equivalent science-based degree (minimum).
  • Good knowledge of standards, guidelines and regulations regarding quality systems and GMP guidelines would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience of working in a pharmaceutical production or development environment, to include working with staff and issues arising.
  • Knowledge of QBD principles and their application to new product development.
  • Knowledge of Indian language (Hindi) is desirable.
