Job Description

Job Title: PhysiotherapistGrade: Band 6Trust: Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS TrustLocation: Southport & Formby District General Hospital, PR8 6PNWard/Dept: Acute InpatientHours: Full or part time over 7-day service, typically 08.15-16.15 with scope for long daysPay rate: £20.76End Date: 6 months, reviewed each monthSouthport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust are currently seeking an organised and motivated PT to work within the trust on long term placement contracts. Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic person with excellent communication skills looking to embark on anew opportunity within the NHS If so, we would like to hear from you today!The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to share information with the MDT to ensure the continuity of treatment and provision of equipment/adaptations to support discharge and prevent re-admission. The postholdermust be able to provide complex information in a clear manner to patients, families, and carers with empathy and reassurance. The postholder will also ideally possess motivational interviewing and counselling skills to overcome any barriers to understanding.Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To assess and identify the individual needs of referred patients, to clinically diagnose and implement treatment plans if appropriate in a manner that respects peoples privacy, dignity and individuality
  • To record and report findings appropriately following the standard procedures used by the department to maintain high levels of written/verbal communication
  • To assist Clinical Therapy Manager/Team Leader in service development and the provision of a quality service
  • To take responsibility for junior members of staff and delegate duties as necessary, always providing appropriate level of support
  • To meet the Therapy and Community and Continued Care Service objectives.
  • To cover for absence when required within the Community and Departments of Southport & Ormskirk Hospital Trust
  • To take part in the On Call Respiratory Rota if applicable
The Successful Candidate Will:
  • Have Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Be HCPC registered
  • Have previous NHS experience
  • Post qualification experience
