Job Description

Position: Registered ManagerResidentialSalary: £34,000 - £36,000 per annum plus annual bonus schemeLocation: Southminster, EssexService: Deansbrook, Consensus Support ServicesAbout the Residential Service:

  • Deansbrook is an eight-bedroom residential service in a quiet, rural area in Essex suitable for individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.
  • The service is very experienced in supporting people who display behaviours that others may find challenging who need specialist support plans and interventions.
  • With a positive environment, the focus is on supporting greater independence and inclusion. Individuals often move to Deansbrook from more secure and restrictive environments and may have experienced placement breakdowns. Our aim is to support them in aless restrictive setting where they have choices around their day to day lives and can reintegrate into their local community.
  • The service consists of four individual two bedroom flat-lets in the main house, all with en-suites and separate lounges and there are also large communal spaces to encourage social interaction. There is an additional separate bungalow within the grounds.
  • The team maintain a very positive attitude and support individuals with very complex needs through a transitionary period in their lives. Transition is supported by a named key worker and is the start of the individuals person-centred plan.
  • Whilst in a rural area, people are supported to access the community daily for shopping and various leisure activities and some are supported to attend local colleges.
  • Emphasis is also placed on individuals having input into the running of the home and housekeeping tasks to build confidence and greater independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • As Registered Manager of this Residential Service for persons with Learning Disabilities & Physical Disabilities, you will lead and work with a team to efficiently and effectively provide operational and strategic direction, setting clearly defined workobjectives for both yourself and others and ensuring these are successfully achieved against agreed timelines and directives.
  • With the aim of enabling the service users to lead a valued and fulfilling life and to maximise their independence to enable them to achieve their full potential, ensuring that the service is run in an efficient and responsible manner, balancing the achievementof budget with the ethos of excellent quality.
  • Effective management of financial performance, ensuring financial resources are appropriately managed & controlled.
  • Promote quality assurance, working towards legal, clinical, statutory and organisational obligations, to develop effective work strategies and processes, to ensure that the business is run in an efficient and responsible manner, balancing the maximisationof profitability with the ethos of excellent quality.
  • Balance the level of acceptable risk against the need to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all concerned in all decision making. With the aim of enabling the service users to lead a valued, fulfilling life and to maximise their independence toenable them to achieve their full potential.
  • To actively promote a learning culture, seeking cost effective resources to maximise learning and development opportunities, ensuring that the training compliance levels are met and maintained.
  • Ensure full and accurate reporting of management information via CMT and the Compliance Report.

About You/Skills & Experience Required:
  • Significant experience of managing a Residential Servicepreferably as Registered Manager with CQC
  • Experience of working with individuals who have learning disabilities or complex behaviours
  • Qualified with the minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Support and training towards NVQ Level 4 and 5 is available
  • A good knowledge of relevant Health & Safety Regulations
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident, flexible, and efficient, you are happy to work on a shift basis, and, where required, to be on-call
  • Above all, youll be committed to providing person-centred care that gives real equality of opportunity to all
