Job Description

The roleAs a Fibre build manager working for a local Build Partner, you will play a key role in helping CityFibre to achieve our mission of delivering full Fibre to up to 8 million premises across the UK - building the Fibre future and be part of somethingfar bigger than just a standard job. In your new role as a Delivery Manager, you will be reporting to the Senior Operations Manager and your main responsibility will be to efficiently manage the contract whilst providing strong leadership for theoperational and planning function. You will be acting as an ambassador ensuring that commercial and operational delivery targets are met, resources are effectively managed and monitored and that the relevant personnel within the team are trained and accreditedto ensure safety & quality standards are met.You will help to build the Future of Fibre by:

  • Assist the project/operations managers
  • Stock management and coordination of site materials
  • Manage project to ensure milestones are met
  • KPI monitoring and reporting performance
  • Liaise with Civils / Fibre supervisors to ensure delivery
  • Collate as-built and deviation information for project handover
  • Carryout Quality checks
  • Liaise with local bodies / authorities regarding upcoming works / permits / issues
  • Monitoring, reporting and escalating issues within teams with risk mitigation management and recovery plans in place to minimize any effects
  • Providing accurate weekly reporting on progress
  • Supporting the team in achieving success, with an accurate assessment of project progress, advising on recovery from a project perspective.
  • Supporting log and control changes and deviations to the delivery program
You will need:
  • Experience in BTOR PIA duct/fibre installation and the related admin tasks
  • OTDR Experience (EXFO, Anritsu, Yokogawa or similar) and management of testing and accuracy of test results
  • Working knowledge of Straight Line Diagrams, Fibre schematics and Fibre allocation sheets
  • Fusion Splicing experience and strong knowledge of fault finding and repair
  • Working experience of GPON networks
  • Experience in FTTH roll-outs, previous CityFibre experience will be considered as an advantage;
  • GIS knowledge and planning experience is desirable
  • Strong leadership and team skills and the ability to set a good example to others;
  • Ability to negotiate suitable outcomes that mitigate project risk;
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Pack ;
  • Good understanding of telecoms fibre optic networks;
  • Ability to demonstrate experience and working knowledge of CDM Regulations;
  • Experience of recognised project management methodology;
  • Full clean driving license;
  • Experience of using ICC form of contract and knowledge of NEC3 ECC form of contract
  • Good local knowledge and existing relationships;
