Prospectus are delighted to be partnering with a leading sheltered housing provider, striving to help homeless people build firm foundations by facilitating their independence and integration into society. They are now recruiting an experienced Senior Support Workers for one of their young peoples services based in Stockwell. This is offered as a temporary assignment, initial for two months with the possibility of extension.As their Senior Support Worker, your primary purpose is to assist an identified caseload of service users to increase their life skills and become self-sufficient by providing individual and tailored support (such as debt management and benefits advice). Working as a Senior Support Worker you will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring staff in lower grade posts to support their professional development and ensure the best service delivery. You will also be involved in managing relationships with external partners to deliver joint support planning to customers.To be successful, you will have demonstrable experience supporting vulnerable individuals, ideally young people, with complex needs such as mental health, substance misuse or offending. You will also have a good understanding of the causes of homelessness and the unique challenges that service users face in everyday life.
