Job Description

We are currently working with an established Flooring company based in Central London, who offer specialist design, installation, and maintenance to a variety of projects across all sectors. They provide a variety of flooring such as vinyl, timber, and carpet,and are proud to have installed or maintained top-quality flooring in every imaginable kind of building, from hospitals and schools to landmark office blocks and the Houses of Parliament.Due to growth of the business, our client is seeking to employ an Estimator to join their growing team.Position Overview - Estimator

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
  • Visit project sites to assess existing conditions and gather essential information
  • Utilise historical data, industry benchmarks, and current market trends to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with the business development team to ensure alignment with client expectations and project goals
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to enhance understanding and address potential issues
  • Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimise project costs without compromising quality
Position Requirements - Estimator
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working in a similar role
  • Knowledge of soft and hard flooring such as timber, vinyl, wood and carpet
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities
Position Remuneration - Estimator
  • £50,000 - 55,000 basic salary
  • Travel expenses paid
  • Company pension
  • 28 days holiday
  • Hybrid working - potential to work up to 4 days from home
