Cyber Security Engineer My client is based in Manchester, they require a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to manage the application and infrastructure security systems (Microsoft / VMWare / Linux). The ideal candidate will have around 5 years + in technicalcyber security engineering roles, along with hands on experience in a number of security domains such as network/infrastructure security, application security, cloud security and end point security. The role will involve securing everything within Microsoftfrom O365, Windows and the Cloud (Azure - Cloud Access Security Broker), along with strong exposure to VMWare and Linux The Senior Cyber Security Engineer will report into the Information Security Manager and be part of a global team that supports the businessobjectives. This is an ideal role for someone who has worn many hats in cyber security, it is also a great opportunity to be part of the decision making when it comes to the future of the cyber security road map.RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SECURITY ENGINEER:Supportnetwork security processes such as cloud management, web filtering, email security and network access controlsOversee information protection technology vendorsReview and test new technologies for the information protection programmeManage the application securityprocesses within the company, between the engineer, penetration, and other divisionsEnsure all internal (and external) application requirements are developed and secure throughout the design and building stagesManage secure development processes within thecompanyLead the SIEM deploymentLead an information classification scheme to document and classify information for its archival and disposalSupport the management of solutions for remote wipe and encryption of mobile devicesWork with senior leadership and stakeholdersto communicate safeguarding needsSKILLS REQUIRED FOR A SECURITY ENGINEER:Experience in everything Microsoft from O365, Windows and the Cloud (Azure - Cloud Access Security Broker - DESIRABLE) Experience in VMWare and LinuxExperience with Cloud is desirableExperiencewith Office365CISSP, CISM or GIAC are highly desirableExperience with PKI, IAM and Endpoint Detection and ResponseExperience with network access controls and proxy managementStrong experience with firewalls, web filtering, DLP, email security and web securityStrongcommunication skillsExperience with information lifecycle management, and network and infrastructure securityBENEFITS OF BEING A SECURITY ENGINEER:Opportunity to work on a project building security from the ground upLead investigations into new technologiesand make decisions on the tools and programmes used by the companyWork collaboratively with other divisions to achieve highest security standardsWork directly with senior leadership and stakeholders to communicate needs of the business
