Sustainability ManagerWe have an opportunity for a Sustainability Manager to join our fast-paced Supply Chain team at Barbour House, South Shields. This role will work closely with Barbour Senior Management to identify and agree a wide range of environmental initiatives for the business to adopt, agreeing targets and deadlines. You will be responsible for driving interdepartmental change and working with Sustainability Champions in achieving results in these areas. You will be intrinsic to the internal and external communication of these initiatives including regular progress updates linking closely with Marketing. You will also have a joint responsibility in maintaining the Barbour Royal Warrants (Environmental Sustainability section) and work to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Sustainability Manager Responsibilities:• Be the knowledge expert, advocate, and leading voice for the business’ environmental sustainability strategy internally and externally.• Develop an ongoing, engaging communications strategy for sustainability that engages our people and develops managers and leaders.• Responsible for the renewal of ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification• Maintenance of the legal register through CEDRIC.• Development of our Carbon Footprint strategy including SECR reporting.• Drive general projects including waste reduction and energy use.• Improve product sustainability initiatives, example, BCI, LWG, Blue Sign, recycled material.• Royal Warrant questionnaire responsibility.• Ensure sustainability as one of our core values is embedded into the organisation’s culture.• Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of sustainability programs.Sustainability Manager Requirements:• Minimum 5 years’ experience operating at similar level.• A bachelor’s degree in business, environmental sciences, environmental management, engineering, or sustainability.• Experience of working on ISO 14001 Environmental Management standard.• Excellent understanding of the sustainability agenda and trends relating to responsible business practices as well as a strong understanding of regulation and legislation.• Ability to lead complex projects, flex between strategy and execution and anticipate and meet deadlines.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong relationships across business functions.• Engaging, able to collaborate and bring colleagues on board with new initiatives and influence at a senior management level.• Resilient - comfortable working on multiple projects within a fast-paced, fast-changing, and challenging working environment.• Ability to manage multiple workstreams maintaining tight control on individual project plans along with high-level objectives.• Strong analytical, research and investigation skills.About J.
