Job Description

MTrec are currently looking to recruit a case maker or bench hand joiner for one of clients in the South Shields area due to their current growth and expansion.The main duties of the job will be to make and manufacture wooden cases and pallets. Other duties will be varied but will include loading and unloading goods by hand, general warehouse duties and labouring. Due to the nature of the business, lifting of awkward and heavy items can be part of the job.The Role:

  • Working in a fast paced and exciting environment in a rapidly growing business.
  • Following detailed schematic drawings to produce cases and pallets
  • Operating various wood cutting machinery
  • Applying brackets, hinges and metal trims
  • Using an industrial nail gun on a daily basis to secure units in place
  • Using hand tools on a daily basis including saws, hammers, drills and screwdrivers
  • Heavy lifting, moving completed items by hand and with overhead crane
  • Packaging of finished products prior to delivery
    • The Person:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in joinery / case making
  • Experience in producing frames and various wooden cabinets
  • Able to use woodworking machinery and hand tools
  • The ability to understand technical drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail, with good problem solving skills
  • Good Organisation and planning skills
  • The ability to work alone or in a team
    • This role will be mainly dayshift working 08.00am till 16.00pm Monday to Friday.Our client is looking for candidates who are looking for a long-term position with a chance of going permanent. Required skills
