Job Description

Are you a freelance Works Manager / Section Foreman looking for security of work Then read on. Abatec is working with a driven and dynamic Civil Engineering contractor involved with a major Highways scheme in North Devon. Our client requires freelance WorksManagers for an immediate start on a project with a completion date in late 2023. We are interested in applicants who have experience of projects including earthworks, drainage, RC structures and surfacing.As Works Manager / Section Foreman you will:

  • Report into a Senior Works Manager and be responsible for checking Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Construction Phase Plans
  • Liaise with employees and subcontractors to ensure programme dates are met
  • Manage all permits and approvals for the schemes
  • Assist in resolving site/construction issues
  • Ensure schemes are constructed in accordance to the approved design
  • Ensure workforce adhere to H&S and Environmental rules
Our client requires a Works Manager / Section Foreman with:
  • Proven experience of working on highways schemes, ideally including earthworks, drainage, surfacing, RC structures
  • A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and legislation
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of managing operatives on site
  • SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid at Work and CSCS card
Salary and benefits include:
  • £280 - £320 per day (paid on a PAYE/CIS basis via an umbrella company)
  • 24 month duration
