Job Description

Autism Teacher - Primary & SecondaryAre you experienced Teacherare you available to start in January 2024The school: We are currently looking for a SEND Teacher to be based in a university in Croydon. The Teacher Will be required to work across Key Stage 3 to 4 keystage levels. The Teacher will be working within our Autism and SEMH students based in one site college andwill be teaching small classes of students at low ability who need academic support as well as social development.You must have subject knowledge and be able to Teacher various subject upto GCSE or up to KS4 There are 10 to 12 students in a class with Learning Support Assistants. The Teacher will become part of a team that specialises in delivering curriculum designedto meet individual needs and give our students the best possible educational outcomes.Average group size 4 /6 For this position you have to be level 5 post 16 qualified, if you have QTLS/QTS this is a plus however not required.You must have experience and be able to set target, and crucially can be creative when planning and developing individual resources.The role:

  • Be a class tutor, ensuring pastoral needs are met and establishing excellent relationships with parents and carers.
  • Engage and motivate pupils
  • Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, parents and other professionals
  • Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom
  • Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school
  • Plan and lead children in off-site enrichment activities
  • Ensure you uphold all safeguarding procedures, including engaging in annual safeguarding training, including induction training
You must have:
  • Successful class teaching experience.
  • Experience of working with children with SEN, SEMH and Autism
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • An excellent knowledge of the specialist curriculum area and how it may be effectively taught.
  • level 5 post 16
