Job Description

Test Lead / Birmingham / Salary up to £60,000An exciting Test Lead opportunity to join my client based in Birmingham who specialise in providing business finance as a FTSE 250 company. Great time to join this company as they’re digitizing the organisation across the UK, which means they’re looking to overhaul their current testing function from manual to an automation testing set up.As theTest Lead, you’ll be joining a business which is currently going through a huge transformation project which is focused on moving away from legacy systems to cloud based applications and systems. Working as a hands-on Automation Test Lead, you’ll also be responsible for the planning and execution of technical test related activities, direct line management duties to a growing team. You will have an influential role to work with the business to establish the importance of automation testing with an aim to increase the level of automation testing within the organisation.The ideal candidate will have a solid testing background, including industry recognised testing qualifications. Must understand the agile software development lifecycle and experience with Selenium, JMeter and SoapUI preferred. You will also have strong proven customer focussed experience.Your duties as a Automation Test Lead:

  • Working as a hands-on Test Lead, you’ll be required to lead by example in a team which consists of one automation tester and five manual testers.
  • Line management duties to one member of the team currently which is likely to grow
  • You’ll be responsible for the governance and documentation of the automation test processes
  • Analysing and designing test scenarios which most effectively prove the requirements of the business.
  • Evaluate the system in terms of non-functional attributes, e.g. performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to Scrum ceremonies; Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews and Sprint Retrospectives.
    • Experience/Skills Required:
  • Strong automation testing experience using Selenium, JMeter, SoapUI, Maven, Jenkins, Browser Stack
  • Ability to perform analysis and design such as impact analysis on existing systems for any proposed solutions
  • Ability to lead by example and provide technical leadership
  • Previous experience of direct line management
  • Proven experience with setting out levels of standardisation and governance
  • Experience with Test Rail, SQL, SharePoint, Azure DevOps within an Agile environment
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
