Job Description

Thats why we live by our values of were positive, were brave and we own it.The Role:As Senior Risk Analyst you will be a part of the Risk Analytics team, taking responsibility for optimising profitability safely across all UK credit portfolios.You will review and provide recommendations on acquisition and customer management credit risk strategies. This will include utilising a range of data sources such as CRAs in the development and validation of scorecards, policy rules, pricing, limits managementand affordability models, whilst ensuring regulatory compliance.You will ensure effective performance monitoring is in place, proactively identifying and highlighting emerging trends, investigating issues and developing appropriate solutions to improve business performance.You may be responsible for supervising junior analysts, prioritising their workload, encouraging knowledge sharing and ensuring outputs produced are accurate and of a high standard.You will ensure that lending follows the correct standards of the business, whilst treating customers fairly by putting them at the heart of everything we do. You will support the group strategic plan to accelerate growth, technology and sustainability.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide portfolio management reports which evaluate the risk profile of the Personal Finance Customer base.
  • Develop and monitor risk strategies which maximise revenue whilst minimising bad debt on new and existing business lines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Central Risk, Finance, Marketing and external teams, whilst delivering new lending strategies within the agreed risk appetite.
  • Plan, control and deliver assigned projects, and participate as appropriate in cross functional projects and investigations, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan.
  • Ensure key risk management information is in place in order to support business direction within agreed risk appetite.
  • Identify areas of cost reduction, service and process improvements that will results in adding value to the business whilst treating customers fairly.
  • Perform a health check of all credit portfolios against internal and external benchmarks, summarising performance of credit risk strategies, emerging trends and issues for monthly committees.
  • Conduct in-depth exploratory analysis on different client segments and portfolios, assessing KPIs and ensuring outputs produced are accurate and of a high standard.
  • As requested, liaise with other departments or external organisations e.g. Credit Bureau on any current or future initiatives.
  • Liaise with all levels of seniority across the business
Skills & Attributes:
  • Can independently code in at least one of the following programming language; SAS, SQL or Python
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Good knowledge of Statistics
  • Presentation skills
  • Strong analytical background
  • Prioritise and organise for self and others
  • Generate ideas to challenge existing business practices
  • Take initiative and ownership of work
  • Build relationships internally and externally
  • Flexible with business needs
  • Evidence planning and managing Projects
  • Supervise and train junior analysts if required
  • Understanding of; credit lifecycle, credit bureau, financial products, economic conditions
  • Experience working on different financial products
