Job Description

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEN (SEMH) school in Solihull for a full time and part time SEMH Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Mentors. The setting provides education for EYFS through to Key stage 2 students. It is an excitingplace to learn and work, where each pupil/ member of staff is valued and everyone is encouraged to succeed to the best of their ability.   • Have experience working with children who have SEMH and or ASC needs
  • Be resilient and tenacious
  • Be willing to go the extra mile for the children
  • Have a good understanding of complex behaviour
  • Be team teach trained or willing to become certified
  • Be able to work well as part of a team and off own initiative.
What youll need to succeedThe role and responsibilities for a SEN (SEMH) Teaching Assistant may consist of the following:
  • To support teachers in providing a learning environment that meets the intellectual, sensory and personal development needs of children
  • To support teachers in providing a learning environment that meets the spiritual, moral, social and cultural needs of children
  • To support pupils in the achievement of their individual learning and behaviour targets
  • To contribute to the safety of the pupils
  • To implement school policies and procedures to ensure the health, safety and general welfare of children
