Job Description

Remedial Works ManagerBirmingham£35-45kThe companyJoin a National contractor with a full range of Clients and contracts nationwide.Our client provides general Facilities Maintenance and Construction project work to the commercial sector as well as facilities maintenance services to the Public Sector and Private Sector at multiple sites. This role is across two large Government contract based in BirminghamThe roleThe contract is managed from our clients state of the art building, in Solihull, and incorporates the delivery of building and infrastructure maintenance, considerable additional works (Small Works & Projects), cleaning and security services, waste and grounds maintenance and further services, such as reception and porterage.The successful candidate will be based at Solihull but may be required to travel between the contract sites.The role of the Remedial Works Manager will be to ensure the successful delivery of all non PPM related additional works (specifically Remedials, but may also include Reactives and New Works) with a value between £0 and £10k from their initial inception through to handover and financial completion. They will undertake the coordination of stakeholders, direct resources, contractors and security cleared Suppliers.The Remedial Works Manager will liaise with the commercial team with the aim of procuring Remedial Works in the most cost effective manner, demonstrating value for money to the clients. They will identify and procure the services of specialist contractors as required to successfully deliver their allocated works. It will be the Remedial Works Managers responsibility to manage compliance and client agreed methodology, governance and approvals. They will also take ownership of Health and Safety on Remedial Works so that it is effectively managed.The role involves the direct line management of a number of team members.The role may require some travel within the UK. The successful candidate will ideally hold SC security clearance and preferably also CTC clearance. Security clearance is a prerequisite for this position.Could this be for youThe successful candidate will have a proven track record of Remedial Works delivery with a demonstrable experience of leading and managing a team.

  • Ideally experienced in working in a similar environment providing services to Government Departments and M&E biased.
  • Fully conversant with all applicable legislation, regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and implementation of the NEC 3 suite of contracts (Term Service Contract).also deliver works accurately
  • SC Clearance is essential for this role
  • Membership of a construction related institute e.g. RICS/CIOB/RIBA/CIBSE/MIET or APM Membership preferable
