My Birmingham based client (B92) is currently seeking a number of experienced Production Assembler for their busy production operation in the Solihull area.This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with a solid manufacturing background, or perhaps somebody in the early stages of their career in carpentry. The company are in a strong position to offer permanent contracts upon completion of a 12 week trial.My client is a well-known firm involved in the production of wooden cases, crates and bespoke kits for the construction industry. For this reason, all applicants for the Woodwork Assembler/Carpenter vacancy must have experience using basic hand tools, in particularnail guns, glue guns and power drills.It is also essential that applicants for the Production assembler role have a basic understanding of knowledge of framing/jointing, as well as the various types of equipment required for the task at hand.Although it is NOT essential that candidates come from a specific background in handling timber/ wood products, it is vital that all applicants come from a factory environment, being able to work to strict targets and work well as part of a team.Key skills for the Production Assembler role must include:- Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring equipment- Experienced in running machinery (company own overhead crane)- Familiar with the duties required of a Woodwork Assembler/ Timber frame manufacturer- Physically capable of lifting and manoeuvring parts of up to 20kg- Flexibility with working hours, in the event of deadlines being pushed forward on orders- Willingness to work outside in the yard occasionally to assist with labouring/ goods in duties- Capable of picking up training quickly and efficientlyAny understanding of wood machine work/ spindle moulding is not essential but may prove highly advantageous.Hours of work: 08:00- 18:00 Monday to FridayPay rate : £10Duration: Full-time ongoing, potential of permanent contractIf you feel that you have suitable experience for the Production assembler position, please click to apply or alternatively email .
