Job Description

Job Title: Paint Shift SupervisorHours: Rotating 38.75 hour weekWeek 1 5.301.45 MondayFriday; Week 2 1.1510.00 MondayThursday and 1.157.00 FridaySalary: £40,000 once fully skilled. Start rate DOEOvertime: Paid at 1.5 x Hourly RatePurpose of Role:Coach, mentor and develop Paint Shop team members to achieve world class standards. Lead Paint Shop improvement of S, Q, C, D & M through process improvement and continuous development of team members. Promote Lean methodologies and champion developmentand execution of lean roadmap within your area of responsibility.

  • Coach, mentor & develop Paint Shop Team
  • Support organisational capability improvement of Paint Shop team members
  • Support HSE roadmap to improve HSE metrics and support our vision of Zero Harm
  • Support right first time quality initiative and actions to achieve a reduction of both internal and external Quality issues
  • Support continuous improvement of the Production System, driving towards world class standards
  • Elimination/reduction of Takt Time variation with a continuous drive for waste elimination
  • Leadership team standard work. Conduct regular audits for improvement opportunities and also process verification.
  • Develop TM engagement, regular TM communications and other activities to drive culture change and improve team morale
  • Lead and effectively execute company policies and procedures
  • Support projects and/or improvement events
  • Promote Lean methodologies
  • Daily kaizen activities
  • Promote Whale values and behaviours
  • Set both Team and TM objectives in line with company Vision/Objectives and manage performance
  • Maintain visual management and data to monitor department KPIs.
  • Ad hoc assistance with locking up the site
Job RequirementsEssential:
  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment is essential.
  • An understanding of Lean manufacturing systems.
  • Mentoring & coaching of team memebers.
  • Team engagement and communication, Time Management, Decision Making
  • Exceptional leadership skills.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Good communicator.
Desirable:
  • 3 years minimum management experience desirable.
  • Paint Shop leadership
  • Shot blast knowledge
  • Assembly leadership
  • IOSH
  • Quality systems knowledge (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Daily Kaizen
