Job Description

Are you currently working as an engineering assessor, working closely with apprentices and/or within a training provider and need a new challenge Do you want to be part of a well-established organisation who pride themselves on the excellent delivery ofapprenticeships thus ensuring the UK Manufacturing Industry continues to grow and thrive Perhaps you want to give something back to the industry where you learned your trade Then we want to hear from you!My Client provides businesses with advice, guidance and support relating to employment law, employee relations, health & safety, climate & environment, information & research and occupational health.They are proud to champion and celebrate British manufacturing and manufacturers and together, they build a platform for the evolution of UK manufacturing.The RoleI am seeking an Industrial Training Manager/Engineering Assessor to support Engineering Apprentices, working on-site (Solihull or Castle Bromwich) with one of our prestigious clients, who are a global blue-chip car manufacturer. This role is more client facing so additional skills are required in respect of influencing andnegotiation skills.We need someone who is pro-active, enthusiastic, a great communicator, who enjoys working with others and who can support, lead and inspire the next generation of engineers.In terms of technical experience, we are looking for someone who has experience in mechatronic or tool maintenance engineering (others will be considered) and working as an engineering training manager, team leader, process leader or in a similar maintenancerole within a factory/manufacturing/plant setting would be a great fit.If you have any experience of training, coaching or mentoring that would be an advantage, but its not essential and for those coming straight out of the relevant engineering industry, the assessor qualifications can be gained through additional trainingon offer.The main purpose of the job:

  • To monitor, review and assess learners, ensuring they have access and opportunity to achieve the requirements of the standards set out in their individual learning plans.
  • Coordinate and manage the process of learning, assessment, and verification through any required standards and qualifications.
  • Determine and develop training plans and where necessary negotiate opportunities for delivery through site managers.
  • Liaise with other appropriate Staff and update and maintain learner records in accordance with requirements.
Knowledge and experience required:
  • Either - Time Served Apprentice relevant level 4 qualification, National Certificate or higher; or skills specific NVQ Level 3 or higher or equivalent.
  • Level 3 (or higher) assessor qualification and/or A1 qualification - beneficial
  • Recent industrial experience combined with knowledge of the current industry and best practice.
  • Empathy with young people, ability to plan, deliver training and assess outcomes.
  • Good presentational and communication skills, literate, numerate and confident using IT.
  • Ability to motivate and gain learner respect.
