• Data MigrationSalary/Rate£30,000 - £50,000/annumLocationSolihull, West MidlandsData Migration LeadBased Birmingham, West MidlandsUp to £50,000 + benefitsNationwide Recruitment Service (NRS) has a client who is experiencing growth and success with their products and seeking a talented Data Migration expert to work within a talented and motivated team.As a key member of the delivery team, you will contribute to the overall success of the organisation by being accountable for improvements to the cycle time and reduction in the risk associated with data migration.You will be responsible for defining the tools, processes and approach to data migration, including Proof of Concepts and regular reviews to ensure that best practise is being leveraged.You will be customer-focused and an excellent communicator as your responsibilities also include engagement with clients, working with them to ensure understanding of the migration approach from a process and technical viewpoint, as well as assistance withdata mapping and identification of improvement areas to benefit those clients.This role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career.Responsibilities:
  • Manage and define the overall process associated with data migration into the application, including Performance Testing, the ETL process, minimum standards for dry runs etc and management of the overall "schedule of events" associated with any data migration
  • Definition and management of testing, validation and acceptance strategies to ensure successful data migrations
  • Management of risks and issues associated with individual data migrations
  • Ensure consistent and repeatable methodologies and tools are being used for data migration
  • Acting as the Data Migration Product Owner provide input into development teams to continuously improve the data migration service. This includes the management of a technical and feature driven roadmap and the conversion of user stories to technicaltasks, translating the business goal to a technical one, allowing the delivery of a technical solution
  • Responsible for the evaluation of new tools and processes, running PoCs and for making recommendations regarding future tools and processes
  Experience required:Essential:
  • Loads of hands-on technical architecture experience and the passion to identify new technologies and processes and deliver improvements in the way that software and architecture is developed and released
  • Demonstrable experience in managing detailed and complex plans inherent in a complex data migration
  • Demonstrable experience of ETL processes
  • Mandatory technical skills: SQL-DB, JAVA, SpringBatch, Jenkins
  • Nice to have technical skills: ADO, JIRA
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills including the ability to demonstrate an ability to deliver in a matrix organisation
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Extensive experience working in a regulated Financial Services Environment
