Job Description

ASSET STRATEGY ENGINEERBASE OFFICE SOLIHULL - ON SITE TRAVEL REQUIREDDURATION: 6 MONTHS INITIALLYPontoon has an exciting opportunity for an Asset Strategy Engineer to join our utilities Client based in Solihull on a 6 month contract initially. My client is an international electricity and gas company and one of the largest investor owned Energy companies in the world. They play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and North-Eastern US in an efficient, reliable and safe mannerResponsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and own a best in class interconnector HVDC convertor station asset management strategy, ensuring whole life cycle is managed to maximise station performance in terms of availability, ensuring maximum return and delivery of commitments.
  • Act as technical lead for the asset management team within interconnectors seeking out and driving innovation.
  • To provide expert timely and appropriate first and second line technical response and appropriate engineering guidance to queries from the Interconnector Operations Team
  • Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional team members and external vendors
  • Ensure risks related to asset management are accurately captured and reported and mitigating actions are in place and discharged.
  • To undertake and lead as technical secretary on technical investigations and make independent recommendations to the business with traceable close out actions ensuring technical compliance with business processes
    • Experience Required:
  • Chartered Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of strategy policy and procedures development and implementation and ability to work across multiple disciplines
  • To have an in depth understanding across the range of HVDC / HVAC technology
  • Strong knowledge of HVDC technology and operational procedures
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influence & engagement focus
