Job Description

Join Our Team as an Art Teacher with SEN Experience!Are you a passionate and dedicated art teacher with experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Were seeking an enthusiastic individual to join a vibrant team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) with provision for SEN located in SouthBirmingham. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill the role of an Art Teacher on a full-time basis, with an Easter start date.This PRU is committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for students aged 11 to 16 years who require additional support due to various challenges. They offer a comprehensive provision for students with SEN, ensuring that every individualhas the opportunity to thrive and succeed in their education.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement differentiated art curriculum to meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage and motivate students.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their confidence and self-esteem through artistic expression.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to provide holistic support for students social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their ongoing growth and achievement.
Requirements:
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant art teaching qualifications.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, preferably within a PRU or similar educational setting.
  • Passion for art education and a commitment to promoting creativity and self-expression.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Flexibility, patience, and a resilient nature to meet the diverse needs of our students.
