Job Description

Administrator required to join a small yet friendly, family team working with Solihull based specialists who offer a consultant-only service to patients requiring eye care or surgery.You willbe providing all aspects of administration support to the management team.Duties will include:

  • Excellent customer service.Manage all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via e-mail
  • General filing and typing of clinic letters when requested
  • Arranging triaging of referrals and subsequent administration
  • Registering of patients on to patient administration system
  • Dealing with all aspects of private and NHS patients pathway, from registration, appointing and theatre.
  • Dealing with theatre appointments and information packs to customers.
  • Managing NHS patient pathways
  • Appropriate liaising with CCGs with red flagged patients
  • Liaising with clinical nursing staff, medical secretaries, clinicians, consultants, CCGs, Opticians, GPs and other professionals as necessary
  • Monitoring fax and telephone messages
  • Monitoring ofthe companies email inboxes
  • Provide reports, as required, for clinic or staff audits and patient satisfaction surveys
  • Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training and workbooks
  • Be involved and contribute at team meetings
  • Carry out instructions given by the management team
  • To manage stationary requirements
Skills Required:
  • Experience of working within a busy administration team
  • Experience of working in a medical environment would be desired
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a small team
  • Be familiar with patient administration systems
  • Appreciates that projects need to be completed using a methodical approach with an ability to work under pressure
  • Uses own initiative and can work independently
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Records information accurately
  • Pays attention to detail
  • Understands and implements processes
  • Good level of numeracy
  • Makes good use of the opportunities to develop within the role
